  1. pell-mell: adjective: in a hasty, confused, and disorderly manner.  Teh books were thrown pell-mell onto the shelf.
  2. negligent: adjective: not showing proper care or concern. Only a negligent pet owner would allow a dog to stay outside all day without water.
  3. undeniable: adjective: unquestionably true. After the fierce blizzard, it was undeniable that winter had truly arrived.
  4. scuffle: noun: a confused struggle or fight.  The argument became a scuffle when one boy grabbed the other' cap.

  3. denominator: noun: the number below the line in a fraction. In a fraction, the denominator indicates the number of parts a whole number is divided into.
  4. vertical: adjective: straight up and down. The firsty hill on the roller coaster ride was nearly vertical.

  1. tragedy: noun: 1. an unfortunate or sad event 2. a play, movie, or story with a terribly sad ending. The sinking of the ocean liner Titanic was a terrible tragedy. It cost millions of dollars to film the tragedy Titanic, which was a huge hit.
  2. pulsate: verb: to beat in rhythm, as teh heart does. On foggy nights, you can see the glow of the roller coaster's flashing neon lights pulsate through the mist.
  3. undaunted: adjective: not discouraged; not hesitating because of danger or difficulties. The hiker's hopes for rescue remained undaunted, even though he had been lost in the wilderness for two days.
  4. aptitude: noun: a natural ability or talent. Lucy has an excellent sense of color and shows a strong aptitude for painting.
