Vocabulary
- diagnosis: noun: a medical opinion given after studying a patient's symptoms. According to the doctor's diagnosis, my injured ankle would heal in three months.
- jaunty: adjective: displaying a carefree, self-confident manner. It was obvious from his jaunty walk that he was feeling good about the day's events.
- tumultuous: adjective: full of upheaval; wild and chaotic. There was a tumultuous sea battle between the pirate ships.
- query: noun: a question; verb: to raise a question. The teacher wrote a query in the margin of my paper. She queried me about the dates I had included.
